What is a self guided holiday?
Enjoy the freedom to explore at your own pace with no-one there to tell you when to move on or hurry up. You set out on the route each day with a guide to how long your bike/hike will take and the rest is up to you. Move lightly across the stunning landscape knowing that you have a comfy bed and your bags waiting you at your next accommodation.
What will the weather be like?
Summer in Cornwall can chop and change, the great charm of the Atlantic Ocean is her many moods! Our climate in the summer is generally a little milder than North American or European summers, we usually have comfortable warm temperature that’s enough to get you excited to be out of the door without being sweltering. This page has a good guide to our annual weather.
Luckily whether skies are blue or cloudy the landscape is always stunning. Layers are your friend, bring lots of different kit so you can decide day to day, and don’t forget your swimwear for an ocean dip!
If the weather is hot: slip - slap - slop - sip (slip on a shirt, slap on a hat, slop on some sunscreen and sip on some water).
If it's cool: lovely! Longsleeve and shorts is our favourite combo and it's nice to have a cool day to warm up into when we get moving.
If it's rainy/windy: expect some coastal drama, blue skies and calm seas are beautiful but there is something just magical about feeling the energy of the Atlantic and seeing the waves march towards the cliffs. Layers are your friend! Moisture wicking base, long sleeve, optional warm insulated layer and then a rainproof on top. A spare change of socks is a moralle booster - keep some in a sandwhich bag in your pack
